Moms Christmas Present - Software started

Another update on the late Christmas present for my mom.   MOM! STAY OUT!

Somehow, while playing around on YouTube, I stumbled upon this little video:

MUST make one for my mother who LOVES silly light-things. Too bad the instructable is kinda lacking, but they went in depth enough to figure out exactly what I want to do.

Ordered most of the parts... A lot of them are coming from China though, so it's going to be a late Christmas present :)

Last night I soldered up the test cube. 4x4x4 = a lot of little solder points :)

This afternoon I got around to working on the firmware and have a few of the effects working. This is still only running on layer 4, but the software is all set to fill it completely when I get around to finishing the layer-changing hardware (Just a bunch of transistors to switch power)

Effects so far are:

• Plane Boing X, Y, and Z
• Rain
• Send Random Pixels along Z axis

It's also really easy to have the software drive different sized cubes. Just change one define and *POOF*
